CAP Acero signs agreement with Engie to use renewable energy

Chilean steelmaker CAP Acero, which is part of holding CAP Group, has signed an agreement to buy energy from Engie Energia Chile, the steelmaker said this week.

Engie Energia Chile will provide 420 gigawatts (GWh) per year to help CAP Acero run its steelmaking activities from “certified renewable sources.”

CAP Acero will start using the renewable energy supplied by Engie in 2021.
