Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 22, the US rotary rig count decreased by 10 to 1,016 rigs following a one-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 192, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by nine to 824. The overall rig count is now up by 21 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count plunged by 56 to 105 rigs in the week ending March 22, following a 28-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 56 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
