Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 9, the
US rotary rig count increased by 11 to 927 following an eight-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by three to 185, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by eight to 741. The overall rig count is now up by 513 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 33 to 132 rigs in the week ending June 9, following a six-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 67 rigs from the same week a year ago.
