Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 27, the US rotary rig count decreased by eight to 860 rigs following an 18-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 146, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by six to 713. The overall rig count is now down by 194 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by eight to 127 rigs in the week ending September 27, following a 15-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 51 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
