Canadian rig count rises while US count declines again week-on-week

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 3, 2023, the US rotary rig count decreased by four to 749 rigs.

The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by three to 154, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by eight to 592. The overall US rig count is up by 99 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by two to 246 rigs in the week ending March 3. The Canadian rig count is up by 29 rigs compared to the same reporting period last year.
