Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 30 the US rotary rig count decreased by one to 940 following an eight-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by one to 184 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by two to 756. The overall rig count is now up by 509 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 19 to 189 rigs in the week ending June 30, following an 11-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 113 rigs from the same week a year ago.
