Canadian rig count plunges again while US count sees minimal decline

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 13, the US rotary rig count decreased by one to 792 rigs following a three-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 107, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by one to 683. The overall rig count is now down by 234 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 28 to 175 rigs in the week ending March 13, following a 37-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 14 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
