Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending January 21, the US rotary rig count increased by three to 604 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by four to 113, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 491. The overall rig count is now up by 226 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 21 to 212 rigs in the week ending January 21. The Canadian rig count is now up by 40 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
