Canadian new vehicle sales up 10.8 percent in February

According to Statistics Canada, new motor vehicle sales in February 2019 totaled 124,058 units, reflecting an increase of 10.8 percent month-on-month but a decrease of 3.3 percent year-on-year. By value, Canadian vehicle sales in February totaled $5.33 billion, compared to $4.84 billion in January and $5.34 billion in February 2018.

Canadian sales of vehicles manufactured in North America totaled 96,482 units in February at a value of $4.12 billion, while sales of vehicles manufactured overseas totaled 27,576 units at a value of $1.20 billion.
