Canadian iron ore shipments up 28 percent in July

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in July 2019 totaled 5,521,295 mt, a 28.0 percent increase from June and a 4.2 percent increase from July 2018. Of that total, 407,464 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 5,113,831 mt was exported.

Year-to-date, Canadian iron ore shipments totaled 29,390,586 mt as of July, up 23.4 percent from the same seven-month period of 2018.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of July totaled 6,468,657 mt, down 9.6 percent from June levels and down 12.5 percent from levels in July 2018.
