Canadian iron ore shipments see slight rise in November

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in November totaled 2,965,823 mt, a 0.1 percent increase from October and a 25.4 percent decrease from November 2016. Of that total, 353,730 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 2,612,093 mt was exported.

Year-to-date iron ore shipments totaled 38,585,534 mt through November, down 1.5 percent from the 39,166,600 mt shipped during the same period of 2016. Of the 2017 year-to-date total, 3,700,864 mt was sent to Canadian customers and 34,884,670 mt was exported.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of November totaled 4,207,636 mt, up 17.1 percent from October and up 48.4 percent from November 2016.
