Canadian coking coal production falls 3.9 percent in November

According to Statistics Canada, coking coal production reached 186,601 mt in November 2017, down 3.9 percent from the 194,245 mt produced in October. On a year-on-year analysis, production reflected a 5.0 percent increase from the 177,663 mt produced in November 2016.

The supply of coking coal in Canada in November reached 225,728 mt, which represents a 14.5 percent decrease from the 263,936 mt of supply in October and a 3.9 percent decrease from the 235,062 mt of supply in November 2016.
