Canada’s basic metal product prices down 4.6 percent in Feb

In February this year, product prices in Canadian industry rose 0.2 percent month on month, increasing for the second consecutive month, led by petroleum and coal products and primary metals, according to the data released by Statistics Canada.

Meanwhile, product prices of primary metals in Canada in February this year rose 1.9 percent compared to the previous month and were down 4.6 percent compared to the same month last year. In February, Canadian manufacturers' fabricated metal prices, excepting machinery and equipment, fell by 0.2 percent compared to January and were up 1.1 year on year.
