The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced that it has initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation on imports of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet from China, Taiwan, India and South Korea. The CBSA is expected to make a preliminary decision by October 24, 2018.

The investigation was launched upon the complaint filed by ArcelorMittal Dofasco G.P., a subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal. The complaint is supported by Canadian steel company Stelco Inc. The complainant alleges that the Canadian industry is facing increasing volumes of dumped subject goods, lost sales, price undercutting, price depression, negative financial results, underutilized production capacity, reduced employment, and threat to continuous investments.
