Canada exports 4.21 million mt of scrap in January-October 2018

According to preliminary customs data, Canada exported 4.21 million mt of ferrous scrap in the first 10 months of 2018.

The largest destinations in the 10-month period were the US with 2.83 million mt (67 percent), followed by Turkey with 0.70 million mt (17 percent). Canada exported 0.12 million mt (3 percent) to Mexico, 0.11 million mt to Taiwan (3 percent), 0.10 million mt to Brazil (2 percent), 0.08 million mt (2 percent) Bangladesh and 0.08 million mt to India (2 percent each), and 0.19 million mt (5 percent) to other destinations.
