CAAM: Chinese auto output and sales increase in January-April

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has stated that in April this year the aggregate automobile output in China totaled 1,899,400 vehicles, down 8.9 percent month on month but up 15.3 percent on year-on-year basis. In April this year, overall automobile sales in China amounted to 1,841,700 units, down 9.5 percent month on month but increasing by 13.4 percent year on year.

In the January-April period of this year, aggregate automobile output in China reached 7,296,500 vehicles, up 13.4 percent compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, in the given period, the overall automobile sales volume witnessed a year-on-year increase of 13.2 percent to 7,266,200 units.
