In April this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.0 million units and 1.914 million units, increasing by 12.2 percent and 11.2 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-April period of the current year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 7.969 million units and 8.011 million units, rising by 1.0 percent and 4.5 percent, year on year.
As for commercial vehicles, the output and sales volumes in April amounted to 398,000 units and 404,000 units, increasing by 12.8 percent and 13.0 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-April period of the current year, output and sales of commercial vehicles in China totaled 1.451 million units and 1.49 million units, rising by 6.4 percent and 6.6 percent year on year, respectively.
