CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 3.0 percent in January-July

In July this year, the output of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 1.759 million units, rising by 4.7 percent month on month, while sales volumes totaled 1.678 million units, up 8.4 percent month on month, while increasing by 2.0 percent and 4.3 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-July period of the current year, the output of passenger vehicles in China totaled 13.241 million units, rising by 3.0 percent, while sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 12.931 million units, up 2.0 percent, both year on year.  

As for commercial vehicles, the domestic output volume in July amounted to 301,000 units, decreasing by 6.8 percent month on month, while sales came to 293,000 units, down 13.9 percent month on month, while increasing by 24.7 percent and 18.4 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-July period of the current year, domestic output of commercial vehicles totaled 2.344 million units, up 15.1 percent, with sales amounting to 2.394 million units, rising by 17.5 percent, both year on year.
