CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 2.3% in January-October

In October this year, the output of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.225 million units, decreasing by 3.2 percent month on month, while sales volumes totaled 2.352 million units, up 0.4 percent month on month, while the respective volumes decreased by 2.7 percent and rose by 0.4 percent year on year, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-October period of the current year, the output of passenger vehicles in China totaled 19.553 million units, rising by 2.3 percent, while sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 19.502 million units, up 2.1 percent, both year on year.  

As for commercial vehicles, the domestic output volume in October amounted to 379,000 units, increasing by 1.6 percent month on month, while sales came to 351,000 units, down 4.1 percent month on month, with respective year-on-year increases of 26.6 percent and 14.8 percent. In the January-October period of the current year, domestic output of commercial vehicles totaled 3.404 million units, up 16.9 percent, with sales amounting to 3.425 million units, rising 29 percent, both year on year.
