CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 0.5 percent in March

In March this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.199 million units and 2.169 million units, increasing by 0.5 percent and 3.5 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-March period of the current year, the output of passenger vehicles in China totaled 5.969 million units, decreasing by 2.3 percent, while sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 6.10 million units, up 2.6 percent, both year on year.   

As for commercial vehicles, the domestic output volume and sales volumes in March amounted to 429,000 units and 488,000 units, increasing by 4.6 percent and 10.5 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-March period of the current year, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 1.053 million units and 1.083 million units, both rising by 4.1 percent year on year, respectively.
