CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output down 22.1 percent in February

In February this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 1.439 million units and 1.476 million units, decreasing by 22.1 percent and 9.6 percent year on year, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-February period of the current year, the output of passenger vehicles in China totaled 3.77 million units, decreasing by 3.8 percent, while sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 3.932 million units, up 2.1 percent, both year on year.   

As for commercial vehicles, the domestic output volume and sales volumes in February amounted to 266,400 units and 242,100 units, decreasing by 13.11 percent and 19.24 percent year on year. In the January-February period of the current year, domestic output of commercial vehicles totaled 623,900 units, up 3.76 percent, with sales amounting to 595,000 units, decreasing by 0.66 percent, both year on year.
