UK-based premium steel manufacturer British Steel has announced that it is extending its partnership with Translink, Northern Ireland’s national rail operator, after the companies agreed a new long-term supply contract.

British Steel will supply premium rail to a series of major projects during the next eight years, including the multi-million-pound North-West Multimodal Transport Hub in Derry.

“Our products allow networks to carry more traffic with less maintenance - major benefits to operators, passengers and freight operators,” said Richard Bell, British Steel’s commercial director for rails.
