Brazil's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) in August this year increased by 1.1 percent from the previous month and fell by 7.3 percent year on year to 269,809 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the January-August period of 2019, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) grew by two percent year on year to 2,011,106 units.
New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 242,985 units in August this year, decreasing 0.3 percent when compared to July and down 2.3 percent year on year. In the January-August period, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) increased by 9.9 percent year on year to 1,794,773 units.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in August (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 36,717 units, decreasing by 12.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 34.6 percent year on year. In the first eight months of the current year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 300,859 units, falling by 37.9 percent year on year.
