Brazil's motor vehicle output in October this year increased by 12.8 percent from the previous month to 318,700 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). The country's motor vehicle output increased by 20.2 percent in October over the same month last year. However, in the first 10 months of this year Brazil's motor vehicle output decreased 3.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 2.8 million units.
According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 3.13 million units in the first 10 months of this year, increasing 5.7 percent year on year. 21 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in October this year totaled 41,797 units, rising by 53.7 percent compared to the previous month and down 21.2 percent year on year. In the first 10 months of the year, the country's motor vehicle exports decreased 18.4 percent to 364,345 units, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, in October the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports was $1.37 billion, increasing by 20.2 percent month on month and down 7.1 percent compared to the same month of 2011. In January-October, Brazilian motor vehicle exports totaled $12.6 billion in value, falling by 5.9 percent compared to the first 10 months of the previous year.
