Brazil's iron ore exports up by 6.2 percent in September

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 33.9 million mt in September this year, increasing 6.2 percent compared to the same month of 2017, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in September totaled $1.76 billion in value, increasing 9.7 percent year on year.

In September, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 838,744 mt, up by 25.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $509.19 million, increasing by 87.9 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in September Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 70,619 metric tons, down by 76.3 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $55.67 million, down 68.3 percent from the September 2017 level.
