Brazil's iron ore exports down by 2.1 percent in March

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 21.71 million mt in March this year, falling by 2.1 percent compared to the same month of 2019, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in March totaled $1.39 billion in value, decreasing by 0.8 percent year on year.

In March, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 957,000 mt, up by 71.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $429.67 million, increasing by 55.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the same month Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 284,217 metric tons, up by 129.12 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $159.77 million, rising by 122.7 percent from the March 2019 level.
