Brazil's national statistics agency (IBGE) has announced that in November last year industrial production in the country rose 0.2 percent compared to October and was up 4.7 percent from November 2016.
In the January-November period of last year, industrial production in Brazil was up by 2.3 percent on year-on-year basis.
According to the announcement, in November last year the production of intermediate goods manufacturers in Brazil increased by 1.4 percent, output of capital goods remained stable, output of consumer goods decreased by 0.7 percent, production of durable consumer goods moved up by 2.5 percent and output of semi-durable and non-durable consumer goods fell by 1.6 percent, all compared to the previous month.
In November last year, Brazil's metal products output increased by 5.3 percent and machine and equipment output rose by 3.4 percent, output of motor vehicles and trailers moved up by 15.7 percent, all on year-on-year basis. In the January-November period of 2017, Brazil's machine and equipment output rose by 2.9 percent and output of motor vehicles and trailers increased by 16.6 percent, both compared to the same period of 2016.
