Brazil's national statistics agency (IBGE) has announced that in September this year industrial production in the country rose 0.2 percent compared to August and was up 2.6 percent from September last year.
In the first nine months of this year, industrial production in Brazil was up by 1.6 percent on year-on-year basis.
According to the announcement, in the ninth month of this year the production of intermediate goods manufacturers in Brazil increased by 0.7 percent, output of capital goods fell by 0.3 percent, output of consumer goods narrowed by 0.7 percent, production of durable consumer goods moved up by 2.1 percent and output of semi-durable and non-durable consumer goods fell by 1.8 percent, all compared to the previous month.
In September this year, Brazil's metal products output decreased by 5.3 percent and machine and equipment output rose by 2.8 percent, output of motor vehicles and trailers moved up by 20.9 percent, all on year-on-year basis. In the January-September period of this year, Brazil's machine and equipment output rose by 2.8 percent and output of motor vehicles and trailers increased by 14.8 percent, both compared to the same period of 2016.
