Brazil’s civil construction activity rises in August

Brazilian civil construction activity in August rose to 46.7 points from 41.8 points in the same month of 2016, according to the country’s confederation of industries (CNI), on a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth.

Local civil construction activity also improved when compared to July, increasing from 44.3 points in the month prior.

The utilization of the industry’s capacity in August slightly increased to 57 percent from 56 percent in August 2016 and 56 percent in July this year.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the sector improved to 45.8 points in August this year, from 39.6 points in August 2016, and from 42.6 points in July this year.
