Brazil’s civil construction activity increases in July

Activity in the Brazilian civil construction sector improved from 38.2 points in July 2015 to 42.3 points in July 2016 on a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth.

According to information released this week by the nation’s confederation of industries, CNI, the level of activity in Brazil’s civil construction segment also improved on a month­-on­-month analysis, rising from 41.2 points in June.

The utilization of the industry’s capacity in July rose to 57 points in July from 56 points in June this year. However, in the year­-on-­year comparison it declined from 60 points in July 2015.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the industry rose to 39.7 points in July, up from 38.1 points in June this year, and from 36 points in July 2015.
