Brazilian steel distributor Açovisa expects net revenues to increase 35 percent in 2019, year-on-year, according to a media report. The company’s commercial director, Andreis Bassi de Melo, said the company saw its net revenues in 2018 rise 32 percent, year-on-year, but the company did not disclose official revenue figures.
Additionally, Melo said Açovisa is investing BRL 5-8 million in the 2018-2019 period to launch new product lines and improve its truck fleet. The company is also expected to grow its workforce by 10 percent, thanks to improved prospects for the local steel industry.
Last year, the company, even amidst a retracted scenario for domestic steel demand, inaugurated two plants, one in Paraná state and another in Rio Grande do Sul state.
