Brazilian regulator fines ArcelorMittal Brazil

Iema, the environmental regulator in the state of Espírito Santo, has fined local steelmaker ArcelorMittal Tubarão, a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal Brazil, BRL 2.5 million ($715,486) due to air pollution, according to a media report by Gazeta Online.

The regulator imposed ten fines of BRL 270,000, totaling BRL 2.5 million. The media report noted the company has been fined another BRL 11.7 million ($3.1 million) in similar fines this month.
