Brazilian Navy to sink stranded ship with 155,000 mt of iron ore on board

The Brazilian Navy will sink a ship that was transporting about 300,000 mt of iron ore produced by Vale, and which was bound to China before becoming stranded off the Brazilian coast in February, according to media reports.

The vessel, owned by Polaris, was expected to arrive at Port of Qingdao, China, on April 4. A media report said experts managed to extract 145,000 mt of iron ore from the stranded vessel in April, leaving approximately 155,000 mt on board.
