Brazilian sales of flat steel products by local distributors in November increased 3 percent, year-on-year, but fell 2.4 percent, month-on-month, to 262,100 mt, the nation’s flat steel distributors association, Inda, said on Tuesday. Inda said purchases of flat steel products by local distributors in November decreased 2.1 percent, year-on-year, and declined 5.2 percent, month-on-month, to 270,300 mt.
Flat steel inventory by distributors in November grew 0.9 percent, month-on-month, to 931,100 mt. Inventory turnover in November rose to 3.6 months, from 3.4 months in October this year.
Brazilian imports of flat steel products by distributors in November was 89,900 mt, 0.4 percent up, year-on-year, and 84 percent up, month-on-month.
The flat steel distributors association estimates both the sales and purchases of flat steel products by Brazilian distributors in December will decline 12 percent, on a month-on-month basis.
