Brazilian crude steel output declines in June

Brazilian crude steel output in June declined 27.9 percent, year-on-year, to 2.1 million mt, Brazilian steel association, IABr, said.

Domestic sales of steel in June fell 1.8 percent, year-on-year, to 1.6 million mt. Apparent steel consumption in June reached 1.7 million mt, 0.3 percent down, year-on-year.

Brazilian steel exports in June totaled 1.1 million mt in volume, 2.1 percent down, year-on-year, and $479 million in value, 30.2 percent down, also on a year-on-year basis.

Brazilian steel imports in June reached 190,000 mt in volume, 13.4 percent up, year-on-year, and $182 million in value, 0.9 percent up, year-on-year.
