Brazilian civil construction activity rises in September

Civil construction activity in Brazil rose to 46.4 points in September this year from 41.5 points in the same month of the year prior, in a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, according to the country’s confederation of industries (CNI).

According to CNI’s data, activity in the local civil construction sector in September declined from 46.7 points in August on a month-on-month analysis.

The utilization of the industry’s capacity in September improved to 58 percent from 57 percent in the same month of the year prior and 57 percent in August.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the segment grew to 45.2 points in September this year, from 39.7 points in September 2016, and from 45.8 points in August this year.
