Brazilian civil construction activity declines in April

Brazilian civil construction activity in April decreased to 45.8 points, from 46.9 points in April 2018, on a scale from zero to 100 in which values above 50 show growth, said the local confederation of industries (CNI). Local civil construction activity in April increased from 44.5 points in March 2019.

According to the trade group, the capacity utilization of the local civil construction sector in April reached 56 percent, down from 60 percent in April 2018 and from 57 percent in March 2019.

CNI said the indicator measuring the number of job positions in the sector slightly fell to 44.1 points in April 2019 from 44.6 points in April 2018. On the other hand, the same indicator improved from 43.7 points in March 2019, CNI said.
