Brazil mining regulator delays decisions amid Covid-19 pandemic

Brazilian mining regulator, the National Mining Agency (ANN), has delayed decisions and appeals for a 40-day period, following the outbreak of Covid-19 in Brazil.

Deadlines for the regulator to respond requests by iron ore companies shall be suspended for 40 days, from March 20 to April 30, including all existing deadlines for sending appeals or get approvals will be delayed or suspended for 40 days.

ANM said the decision doesn’t apply for the monitoring of dams, including iron ore dams.
