Brazil civil construction activity improves in May

Brazilian civil construction activity in May increased to 46.9 points, from 44.4 points in May 2018, in a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, local confederation of industries (CNI) said.

According to CNI, Brazilian civil construction activity in May slightly improved from 45.8 points in April 2019.

CNI said the capacity utilization of the local civil construction sector in May reached 56 percent, down from 57 percent in May 2018 but remained stable from 56 percent in April 2019.

According to the trade group, the indicator that measures the number of job positions in the sector grew to 45 points in May 2019 from 44.3 points in May 2018. It also increased from 44.1 points in April 2019.
