Bonds issued by local governments in China this year total RMB 1.22 trillion as of Feb 28

Bonds issued by local governments in China amounted to RMB 1.22 trillion ($0.18 trillion) in the current year up to February 28, as reported by local financial media. 

It is thought that the scale of local government bond issuance in the January-March period this year will be at a relatively high level compared to the previous two years.  

As of March 1, 21 provinces in China have disclosed their bond issuance plans for March, with bonds totaling RMB 719.5 billion ($104.1 billion) to be issued, with new special bonds to account for 73 percent of the total.
