Bolivian government plans to invest $410 million to start building the delayed El Mutún iron and steel project this year, the government said.

According to the government, it expects to complete the project by 2025 in three different phases.

The first stage of the initiative was the completion of a $410 investment, the goverment added.

The project will be 85 percent funded by private capital and 15 percent by government money.

At its first phase, the project will be able to produce 150,000 mt of finished iron per year, they said, and the volume could supply 65 percent of the nation's civil construction demand. The volume would then increase until it reaches its full capacity at second and third stages.
