BMZ’s sales to overseas automotive industry up by over 70 percent in Jan-Nov

Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) has announced that the company recorded a 1.85 million mt export volume, with a value of more than $1.16 billion in the January-November period in 2018. This indicated a growth rate of 106.6 percent in terms of volume, and 128 percent in value terms.

According to company statement, BMZ exported about 86 percent of manufactured products within the period of January-November. Steel deliveries to overseas covers 66 countries worldwide, which is the company’s best performance in the last eight years.

In 2018, Europe remained the main market for BMZ, accounting for 48.4 percent of the company’s exports. The biggest share in the company’s exports belongs to Russia with 18 percent. Other markets have been Middle East (11.5 percent), Africa (9 percent), the US (4 percent) and North America.

According to the statement, steel sales for the overseas automotive sector increased considerably by over 70 percent in the eleven month period.
