Australian miner BHP Billiton has announced its production results for the financial year 2018-19 ended June 30. The company achieved an iron ore output of 238 million mt in the given period, remaining stable year on year. In the June quarter of the same financial year, on the other hand, iron ore production amounted to 62.6 million mt, falling by two percent year on year.
BHP Billiton expects its iron ore production to range between 242-253 million mt in the financial year 2019-20 as the miner undertakes a significant maintenance program at Port Hedland.
In the full financial year, BHP Billiton's metallurgical coal production declined by one percent to 42.4 million mt, while it decreased by one percent to 11.9 million mt in the June quarter, both year on year. The miner’s metallurgical coal production guidance for the financial year 2019-2020 stands at between 41 million mt and 45 million mt.
