According to data released by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, in the first five months of the current year the value of metallurgical production in Belarus increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of last year to BYR 16.916 trillion ($1.9 billion).
In particular, in the given period crude steel production in Belarus increased by 0.2 percent to 1.190 million mt, output of rolled steel went down by 2.7 percent to 1.051 million mt, while domestic production of steel pipes declined by 7.2 percent to 93,200 mt, all on year-on-year basis
