The central Vietnamese province of Quảng Ngãi has agreed with Belgium-based Bekaert, one of the world's largest steel cord and wire manufacturers, on the contruction of a steel fiber plant in the province, as reported by Vietnam-based English language daily Vietnam News. The steel fiber plant will have a total investment of more than $125 million. Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2019 and production will begin in 2021.
The plant will have a production capacity of 75,000 mt of braided steel fibers, 1,000 mt of steel cords and 2,000 mt of improved braided steel fiber per year.
