Beihai Chengde Group, based at Tieshan port in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi, has started
production at phase one of its new nickel-chromium alloy project.
Beihai Chende Group is a joint venture of Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group., Ltd and Foshan Chengde Special Steel Co., Ltd., which is being built with a total investment of RMB 12 billion ($1.82 billion), targeting an overall annual output capacity of 1.6 million mt of nickel-chromium alloy.
Construction work on phase one of Beihai Chengde's nickel-chromium alloy project started one year ago. Investment in phase one totaled RMB 3 billion ($456 million), while it has an annual output capacity of 600,000 mt of nickel-chromium alloy slab. Its annual output value is expected to reach RMB 10 billion ($1.5 billion). Preparations and construction work for the second and third phases have already commenced.
