Baosteel’s wire rod enters automotive shock-absorber parts market

According to Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group, locking shafts for car shock absorbers produced by Shanghai Best Fastening Systems Co. have been approved by Tenneco (Beijing) Ride Control Systems Co. The shafts in question are manufactured using wire rod produced by Baosteel and this is the first time Tenneco Beijing will use domestically-produced parts for shock absorbers in cars. 
 
Tenneco is a world-leading manufacturer of shock absorbers, with its annual output of shock absorbers amounting to over 100 million units, while the output at its Beijing-based subsidiary Tenneco (Beijing) Ride Control System Co. can reach up to 8 million units per year. Meanwhile, Shanghai Best Fastening Systems Co. is one of China's most advanced fastener manufacturers, specializing in the production of fasteners with high-tensile strength for the automotive sector.
