Baosteel’s Meishan Mining increases iron ore output and sales in H1

According to Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group (Baosteel), its Nanjing-based subsidiary Meishan Mining in the first half of the current year produced 1.21 million mt of iron ore concentrate, an increase of four percent year on year, and sold 1.19 million mt of iron ore concentrate, up one percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the current year up to June 23, Meishan Mining produced 2,153,700 mt of crude iron ore, accounting for 56.67 percent of the planned annual volume. In 2010, Meishan Mining had produced 4.02 million mt of crude iron ore and 2.25 million mt of iron ore concentrate, and had sold 2.25 million mt of iron ore concentrate, of which 1.045 million mt was exported.
