Three color coating lines of Shanghai Baosteel Group are now working at full capacity to supply coated sheets used for the construction of prefabricated houses in earthquake-hit Sichuan Province. So far, Baosteel has signed sales contracts for 38,000 metric tons of coated products, as well as framework agreements with prefabricated housing construction units in Shanghai, Henan, Chongqing and elsewhere.
Baosteel has stressed that color coated sheet production and supply must be given priority at the present time. To ensure the fulfillment of its task, Baosteel has suspended color coated sheet export contracts for June and July deliveries, while they are holding talks with domestic buyers seeking to defer deliveries to August. In addition, Baosteel has stated that it will be keeping its coated sheet prices unchanged.
