Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel has announced that it has produced 40 mt of controlled expansion alloy slab at its special steel division, thereby filling a gap in domestic production of precision alloy steel products.

Demand for controlled expansion alloys in China has continued to rise. However, up to now China has been dependant on Japanese imports for supply of these products.
